What is collected, and why

If you are just reading the site, nothing is asked of you and you are not tracked.

If you fill in the advertising signup form, Bob's Barbers keeps what you send in: your business name and trade, your name, your phone number and email address, your website and Facebook page if you gave them, the areas you cover, the wording you want on the advert, and your logo if you uploaded one.

That is used to run your advert on the screen in the shop and to contact you about it. It is not used for anything else. It is not sold, and it is not passed to anybody else.

Your advert details on the screen

The details you send for your advert - your business name, number, logo and so on - are shown publicly on the screen in the shop. That is the point of it. Nothing else you send in is ever displayed.

How long it is kept

For as long as you are advertising with Bob's Barbers, and for a year afterwards in case you come back. Ask for it to be deleted sooner and it will be.

Payments

Direct Debits are handled by GoCardless. You enter your bank details on their secure page, not on this website. Bob's Barbers never sees them and never stores them. You are covered by the Direct Debit Guarantee.

Cookies

This site uses very few cookies.

PHPSESSID	Essential. Keeps your signup form working while you fill it in and keeps the admin login secure. Disappears when you close your browser.
cookie_consent	Essential. Remembers whether you said yes or no to this banner, so it does not keep asking. Lasts a year.
Google Maps	Optional. The map on the home page comes from Google, and Google sets its own cookies when it loads. The map is not loaded at all unless you accept. If you would rather not, the map stays off and you can still open it directly in Google Maps instead.

There are no advertising pixels and no social media tracking on this site.

Counting visits

Bob's Barbers keeps a simple count of which pages get looked at, to tell whether the site is doing its job and what to tell the businesses advertising on it. For each visit four things are recorded: the page, the hour, the name of the website you arrived from if there was one, and whether you were on a phone or something bigger.

That is all. It sets no cookie, runs no JavaScript, and stores no IP address, no device fingerprint and nothing else that could identify you or follow you to another website. There is nothing in it that can be traced back to a person, including by Bob's Barbers. It is not Google Analytics or anything like it, and none of it is shared with anybody.

Because none of it identifies anyone, there is nothing here you need to consent to or opt out of. Records older than about a year are deleted.

Changing your mind

Clear this site's cookies in your browser settings and the banner will ask you again next time you visit.

Your rights

You can ask what Bob's Barbers holds about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. Ring the shop or email andy@kingstonbranding.co.uk and it will be sorted out. If you are not happy with how it has been handled you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
